Buildings put up before the 1990s often hide asbestos in ceilings, walls, flooring and insulation. Before you can repaint, re-floor or renovate, it has to come out safely. HEIMS removes it the right way — tested first, sealed off, taken out under negative-air containment, and disposed of at a licensed facility — so your space is clean, clear and ready for the work that follows. What we remove
Stipple & popcorn ceilings
The most common find in older units — safely scraped and removed, then re-skimmed smooth and repainted.
Drywall & plaster
Asbestos-containing joint compound and plaster taken out during demolition or renovation.
Floor tile & sheet vinyl
Old vinyl tile and the black mastic underneath, lifted and hauled out so new flooring can go down.
Vermiculite & insulation
Attic vermiculite and pipe or duct insulation removed and bagged under containment.
How a removal job runs
1. Test & survey
Samples are lab-tested and, where required, a designated substance survey is completed before any work begins.
2. Contain
The area is sealed with poly hoarding and negative-air HEPA filtration so fibres never reach the rest of the building.
3. Remove & dispose
Material is wetted down, removed and double-bagged, then taken to a licensed disposal site with full waybills.
4. Clear & restore
Independent air-clearance testing confirms the space is safe, then we patch, prime and repaint — ready to use.
